Earlier this week, Mark presented Andrea Baker from The Space Centre with a cheque for £8,551.65, drawing to a close a fantastic year of fundraising.
Through the efforts of MJH and the overwhelming support from clients, friends and family, we have been able to help facilitate the tremendous work The Space Centre carry out. Events such as the MJH Masquerade Ball, The Friends of MJH Christmas Party and our Easter Egg Raffle, all of which will be appearing on our 2020 fundraising calendar, helped contribute to the total.
A massive thank you to everyone who bought or donated raffle prizes, gave up their time to attend and help set up our events – your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Please help us to support our chosen charity for 2020, Friends of Sir Tom Finney Community High School, by attending The Great Gatsby Ball at Preston Marriott on 5th June. Ring the office today on 01772 721704 to avoid disappointment.
MJH Accountants we have always endeavoured to support the local community; from
taking part in charity events, to working with the local schools and colleges through
to organising fund raising projects of their own.
As many of our clients will be aware, Mark and I have been living it up at Xerocon 2019, a magnificent 3 day event designed to bring together the leading minds in the industry with a passion for all things Xero. Our time there has given us a valuable opportunity to speak to numerous add-on partners, other accountancy professionals and Xero representatives, allowing us to discuss the latest developments, best practice and exciting opportunities for MJH Accountants and our clients.
We are committed to ensuring none of our clients pay a penny more in tax than is necessary and they receive useful tax and business advice and support throughout the year.

Employers must plan ahead for EA restriction
The Employment Allowance (EA) is a valuable relief, particularly for small businesses as it potentially cuts the business’s national insurance contributions (NIC) bill by allowing a pre-set annual amount to be offset against PAYE NIC costs. The current limit is £3,000, and it is widely available to most employers. However, from April 2020 the allowance is being restricted to smaller businesses with an NIC bill of less than £100,000 in the previous tax year.
